Manchester United have been linked with a move for their former star Cristiano Ronaldo who has been touted to secure a return to Old Trafford in the summer. Ronaldo has been the best player at Juventus since joining the Italian Serie A giants back in the summer of 2018 from Real Madrid and has been ending the season as their top scorer since then. However, he has been coming under intense criticism in the last months because Juve have not been making significant progress in the UEFA Champions League.
Given that the Portuguese attacker was signed in their bid to clinch the prestigious European club title, it was only normal for the criticism and pressure to be mounted on him following their recent failures in the competition.
Juventus are currently on the brink of not qualifying for the Champions League next season and it could be a huge factor in determining whether Ronaldo will remain at the Turin club or not. He has now been linked with a move back to United in the summer.
Manchester United manager Olé Gunnar Solksjær has maintained that he will not talk about players of other clubs as he continues to remain coy about the transfer links suggesting that his former teammate could be rejoining the club where he made a name for himself.
French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with a move for Ronaldo and this summer could be the best time for them to try and sign the Portugal captain, especially if Juventus fail to qualify for the Champions League next season.
With KylianMbappé also set to be keen to join Real Madrid, a move for Ronaldo could be what the French giants need to do to replace the French attacker this summer.
